With the Adriatic to our left we head towards the castle;
overcome the teams adapted to the real exhibition space
and pass under a portal that leads into the park.
After a curve in the road on the right, there promises to the castle with all its glory.
As we approach, we are struck by the brightness of white Istrian stone, which have been used for its construction, and shall ensure that its embattled towers are visible from all over the gulf.
arrive and scenic square in front of the entrance to the castle, look to the building before starting the visit.

proceed to visit the castle which is on two of the three floors of the building. Some names rooms are linked to files that allow a virtual tour of the environments to which they relate.
Inside you can take pictures, and I, however, evading the control of the stewards, I took some pictures that accompany this post.
Hall.
The first room that greets visitors is the atrium, the walls are portraits of rulers shows including Elizabeth I and Mary Stuart. Hanging from the coffered ceiling is a chandelier with four arms with decorations in the shape of pineapple which is the emblem of the castle designed by the same Massimiliano.
the left atrium opens the modern ticket office and provided the book shop to make room for which they have sacrificed two rooms (Room I - Accommodation and Butler ROOM II - Hall of ladies in waiting ) I was able to visit during my first attendance at the castle.
Hall of Honor.
large and spectacular. An impressive staircase gives access to upper floors. The railings are of oak in the Renaissance style, are on it shows six pages lampofori-imperial.
The lobby is lighted by a large French window that opens onto the beautiful scenery of the Gulf of Trieste.
Room III - The cab.
Bedroom Massimiliano, small and efficient as the housing of one of its ships. Between the curtains of the canopy you can see a portrait of Carlotta.
It has also a bathroom with a bathtub carved from a single block of marble.
And 'one of the most charming of the whole castle.
It 's the perfect reproduction of the square stern of the frigate "Novara" and was the study of the Archduke. The room is furnished with the Dutch 700. Also noticeable is an Indian cabinet 800 in camphor wood inlaid with ivory and ebony. The walls still portraits of rulers among them being that of Emperor Maximilian I of Habsburg (attributed to Durer). Among the paintings there is also a work of Charlotte, this is the painting of the ship "Fantasy".
Room V - Library.
Among the volumes that make up about three thousand, some contain poetry and travel memoirs written by Maximilian. See beautiful marble busts of Homer, Dante, Shakespeare and Goethe Knaurr sculptor, a clock and a Louis XV style chair gift of the ladies of Prague, Maximilian.

This room also for the blue color of the tapestry. The furniture, exquisite workmanship, are Dutch. Interesting is the clock tower.

It 'also presents a septet of the late eighteenth century French rosewood and the walls, some crayons, including the portrait of Maria Theresa. Above you can see the furniture in Chinese blue porcelain vases and candlesticks in gilt bronze.
Room VIII - The boudoir
In this small octagonal room, Charlotte loved to paint and compose poetry. On the walls you can admire some of his works, including a small painting of the island of St. Giorgio in Venice. A large painting on the wall corner in costume portraying Carlotta Brianza similar to that characteristic of Lucia Mondella The Betrothed. Here too, the furniture is mostly Dutch.
Room IX - Bedroom.
We slept Carlotta. In this environment, properly adjusted, the Mexican deputation offered the crown to Maximilian of Mexico. The furniture was a gift of the city of Milan to the newlyweds. From the ceiling hangs a beautiful Bohemian crystal chandelier in forged with the pendants in the shape of pineapples.
Hall X - The dressing room.
It 's a local service in the previous room and is modeled on the style of furniture. A wall of a watercolor depicting a view of Jerusalem Carlotta.
Room XI - The Chapel.
The small church, very intimate, Maximilian seems to have been given to the Greek community in Trieste. E 'coated cedar of Lebanon and the figures of the apostles in the apse and the Last Supper on the altar are the work of Edmund Heinrich. In coffered ceiling depicting the Madonna and patron saints five of the Habsburgs. Sull'acquasantiera a black marble plaque recalls the Mass celebrated July 6, 1863 at the thirty-first birthday of Mexican Archbishop Maximilian de Lavastida. The heavy red brocade curtains bring the eagle and the crown imperial coat of arms of Mexico under the theme "Equity and justice" and the pineapple. Three pillows at the foot of the altar was embroidered by Carlotta.
Room XII - Room of the compass rose.
takes its name from the dial on the ceiling that connected with a wind vane located on the tower of the castle, indicated the direction of the wind.
The room was normally used as a playroom and access for guests coming from the marina. Currently home to some of the collection of paintings depicting Maximilian Venice, among them stands a representation of the celebration that Venice archducal attributed to the couple during their honeymoon.
Leaving this room we will be back in the hall of honor where to access the first floor.

mullioned windows giving on the two to the harbor's coat of arms designed Miramare Maximilian by the same two anchors, two pineapples and a cross with the motto "Hope is the result of light." At the center of the balcony, built in the floor, a circular tank with the bottom of glass that makes visible the lower floor and four bronze dragons "spitting water."
the two sides painted black furniture inlaid with ivory. On the walls, the paintings of Frederick II of Prussia, Catherine de 'Medici, Cesare Borgia and Catherine II of Russia.
Now you temporarily leave the room "historic" visit to the apartments of the castle of the Duke and Duchess of Aosta who stayed at this building for a short period. I have nothing to report and return to willingly plunge into the atmosphere of Hapsburg Maximilian and Carlotta. The first floor rooms were designed in a very impressive place as destined to become the reception rooms of the Emperor. Maximilian was not able to see them carried out since the work began after his departure for Mexico, which did not return.
Room XIII - Living principles.
In this room the eye is attracted by a low door from a castle in the Tyrol.
On a table in a nice casket carved bone attributed to the Genoese craftsmen 400. On a column of the marble bust of Marie Louise of Orleans, mother of Charlotte. The paintings on the walls depicting Maria Teresa with some of his sixteen sons and Louis Victor's younger brother Maximilian. A very beautiful Tuscan richly inlaid cabinet 800. From this room, the drawings of the ceilings are also reproduced on the floor.
Hall XIV - Hall of royalty.
meant to accommodate the guests, is so named because of the presence of contemporary portraits of the rulers to Maximilian. The bed columns with gilded carved was a gift from Emperor Napoleon III to Maximilian and comes from the Palazzo Vendramin in Venice. Also striking the table with black marble medallions depicting views of Rome, a wedding gift from Pope Pius IX. Massimiliano on this table will sign acceptance of the crown of Mexico.
E 'among the most magnificent castle. Very nice table supported by a heraldic eagle Mexican carved in wood and two tanks in china. On the ceiling are the arms represented real Dukes and the Committees of Habsburg (also to Trieste). Above the doors the views of Chapultepec Castle (residence of Maximilian in Mexico), the fortress of the Habsburg and the Imperial Castle in Vienna (Hofburg). The six portraits on the walls depicting Franz Joseph, Elisabeth (Sissi), King Leopold I of Belgium, Marie d'Orleans (the latter's parents Carlotta), Emperor Napoleon III of France and his wife Eugenia of Contico.
Room XVI - Hall of conversations.
Another very luxurious room. The walls still portraits of important figures: Ferdinand II of Bourbon, King of the Two Sicilies and his second wife Maria Theresa of Austria, Ernst of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, King Leopold I of Belgium. The hosts are represented in two important courtly medallions painted by Heinrich. Views over the doors of the Castle of Miramare and its park, a hunting chalet and ship Novara. In one corner, the black marble fireplace you can enjoy a beautiful porcelain vase decorated with bronze.
On a console, even a clock in the style of Louis XV.
Room XVII and XVIII - Salotti Chinese and Japanese.
Local reserved for men to smoke and discuss. Equipped with furniture and ornaments from the eastern part purchased personally by Maximilian. The walls are richly covered with hand-painted silk in the first room
and silk embroidered with gold and silver in the second. The floors are inlaid with bamboo and the two tables are available in ebony inlaid with mother of pearl.
Room XIX - Sala Cesare Dell'Acqua.
So called because its walls to collect some pictures of the Istrian painter Cesare Dell'Acqua, a friend of Maximilian. Of particular interest are the paintings of the royal couple's departure for Mexico, the offer of the crown to Maximilian of Mexico and the visit of the Empress Elizabeth (Sissi) in Miramare. The other three paintings represent the visit of Leopold I of Austria (known for having stopped the Turks at the gates of Vienna) to Grignano Argonauts which proceed to sea at the mouth of Timavo and the celebration of Livia, wife of Octavian, in a villa Grignano. On the ceiling, a painting depicting Maximilian surrounded by allegorical figures. The bust of the Archduchess Sofia, mother of Maxine and Francis Joseph, has pride of place on a pedestal. The furniture in ebony and ivory and the table against the wall are of Tuscan invoice.
Room XX - Throne Room.
And 'This is the largest and most luxurious room in the castle. The walls are twice as high compared to other rooms and can accommodate two large paintings: the family tree of Habsburg-Lorraine with representatives of the Habsburg house surrounded by a sort of golden halo while family members Lorraine have a silver halo
and opposite "The triumph of Charles V" which Maximilian boasted of being a descendant.
Other smaller paintings represent some of the Emperors of Austria: Leopold II, Joseph II, Maria Theresa's son, the latter and Francis I. At the top, other paintings depict some of the royal house of Hapsburg. From the magnificent gothic ceiling chandeliers hang eleven.
chairs against the walls are in German baroque style. The windows that look towards some degree you see Bohemian crystal colored.
Room XXI - Hall of seagulls.
takes its name from birds painted on the ceiling coffers carrying in its beak a scroll with a motto in Latin, written by Maximilian. This was intended for hall dinners. Some paintings on the walls recall the journey of Maximilian in Smyrna, two views of the French Zouaves camps in Mexico and two portraits of oriental women. Notable the great Tuscan style table and two drawers Rococo '500. From the ceiling hangs a chandelier of the largest castle in Bohemia crystal.
This was the last room visitors from those designed by Massimiliano.
This completes the visit to one of the most magnificent and best preserved castles in Europe.
Before visiting the park, let's look at a few facilities outside the building.
The fountain in front of the hall of honor.
A look at the top.
Still perspective but from the bottom on the back of the castle.
Other views of the castle overlooking the sea.
Best wishes.
